I read that in some gulf countries it isn't uncommon for a newly built high rise building to collapse of its own accord without any outside conditions to make it collapse which is due to poor building construction. I suppose it was meant cheap materials and fast construction without consideration for quality work. In other words to get a building up as fast as possible with no other end in mind. So I wonder about countries like China and other countries that built and are building so fast

What high rise building has collapsed of it's own accord? There have been many instances where glass shattered without external pressure, but I never heard that of a whole building.
It sounds like China has a problem with quality structure building. But I think it is worse in the gulf countries. For one thing most of the laborers are from India or around that region and they aren't happy workers. A lot of strife with worker bosses.

When I lived in Los Angeles, I could hear people talking on the phone 2 rooms away. Not a sign of great quality. Americans homes are mostly cheaply built. The walls of made of I don't know what... very thin and a kick will make a big hole in it. You don't see such "walls" in China either.
I am not denying that there are many shady buildings in China, but that itself doesn't mean buildings in the US are better.

The construction quality in China is generally abysmal. Just like in the gulf states, buildings in China are collapsing on their own accord. You also have to watch out for the elevators in those buildings, as they have claimed many lives at this point. It's almost a thing in China nowadays, that people are afraid of elevators and escalators.

He's actually kind of right. I wouldn't say the US has the worst construction in the world, but they use almost exclusively materials like wood and paper, even when building tall residential towers. It's quite scary, as you can imagine a fire starting on the first floor would quickly spread and burn down the whole building when the whole frame is made out of wood. You wouldn't want to be on the 10th floor when that happens.
Regular villas are wood framed as well even in hurricane zones, hence there is so much destruction every time there is a hurricane or a tornado.
America would do well by looking at how they build in Mexico or Europe. Usually steel or concrete frame. Much sturdier. Protects against things like mold better, and you don't hear your neighbors as much.
