the Larung Gar Buddhist Academy, Sertar does not need to be destroyed, the PRC are no better than ISIS destroying history in Syria and Iraq, that is our global culture and heart of civilization.

Fact: The government of China renovated the Potala Palace (all central government money).
Fact: There are thousands of Tibetan Buddhist temples in China, especially in Tibet, Qinghai and Sichuan. Many of them look splendid.
Fact: Tibetan language is taught in schools of Tibet and in colleges of other parts of China.
Fact: The so-called demolish of Setar academy has been proven to be a lie. Yes, some buildings were demolished because they were too old and too dangerous, and had no historical value. Others are untouched. Similar projects exist in all parts of China, from Beijing to Yunnan, from Xinjiang to Hainan.

In March 2017 it was revealed that the dismantling is part of a rebuilding project that the local government is carrying out in order to make the academy fire- and earthquake-safe.

Do you know many of the students in the academy are Han Chinese?

By the way, the Larung Gar Buddhist Academy at Sertar is still open. This summer there were too many tourists so they accepted 1000 persons per day maximally.

Of course, those anti-China activists do not bother to go to China to check. Maybe they want to save the funding for more propaganda.

It’s not the 60-70’s anymore, China has started to go to great lengths to preserve its history and culture and minorities languages and cultures.

China had some dark times, but what country hasn’t. The most important thing is we don’t repeat those mistakes and aim for a brighter future.

No matter ones view on history and who has a claim on what, China isn’t giving up Tibet. The Tibetan Independence Movement died because it’s a pipe dream and a waste of time and energy.

China is still a very interesting country, but I do hate those concrete tenement style buildings. Even the modern ones are mostly ugly and terribly maintained. China’s urban cores are really interesting and where I like to be.

Asking China to give up Tibet is like asking the entire American population to vacate the land to native Americans. Didn't the US take so much land from Mexico by force? I guess that doesn't count, does it?

Countries occupy land to expand. They all do. Get over it already.
