There's no way at all to tell where or when the next one will happen. There's a reasonable likelihood it'll happen somewhere in the region due to the climate, density, etc but hopefully if and when that happens, because of what happened this time and the measures taken to contain it, there will be more vigilance early on.

China itself is worse than another pandemic.

^Agree with the above. Climate, wildlife diversity, population density, and more mean that entire region (China on over to India and everything in-between) is a likely source for new diseases. Any country of a huge size with massive differences in topography, climate, forestation, animal species, and population centers would be.
Hopefully people don't get TOO complacent again, but the longer we go without another pandemic, that is sure to happen (not that I want another pandemic to occur sooner rather than later, of course). I mean, some degree of not worrying about it from the average person isn't a problem but if governments start cutting funding to pandemic response programs and shutting down virologist research groups again, then that's an issue. The threat of a global pandemic has been talked about for years now; it's not something that took biologists and virologists by surprise. So hopefully COVID's impact on the world keeps some people caring about what's going on out there.

if people and climate and poverty are to blame, why not India?
India climate is worse than China, their local customs are worse, like swimming, washing,****ting in the Ganges River, letting the cows run all over town, monkeys too.
But they have more vegetarians and vegans.

Pandemics could start anywhere, as has long been the case throughout history.

It is less likely to have pandemic originated from India even though it is filthy. A huge segment of its population is vegetarian.

Eating wildlife is no problem. Harrods Food Section displays a lot of wildlife. It is more related to how a government administers the wet market.

India may have more vegans and vegetarians, but during monsoon system, there are pools of water on the road which brew bacteria and micro organisms.
It does not help when you allow cows, monkeys, snakes and even leopard roaming in the street
Western tourists like to follow Mother Teresa to see how she does good deeds, when one of them slipped and fall in the street, she would ask her staff to clean up the wound and apply antibiotic on the spot ,not waiting til they return t o the hotel.Tourists are all warned not to drink local water.
J Welch of GE,caught a severe fungal infection staying in 5 star hotel in India which led to a heart attack.
A friend of mine went to India,he is diabetic and he wore socks with his sandals, but dirty water must have soaked his socks and affect open sore,he became very sick.
I have heard many cases of tourists coming back from India, sick, one came back in 2 urns, one for his son and the other for his daughter !

SARS started with someone eating Civid Cats?
Once there is a diseases called kuru disease on one of the islands of New guinea?
The patient 's head will shake ,hence the name Kuru meaning head shaking, medical researchers cant find the cause until social worker arrived.
It turns out that particular village, when men took off hunting for weeks and months, the children and elderly could eat flesh of dead ,there is a virus in the brain of these dead folks, and you know back in the old days, you cook and then you run out of fuel which is tree branches, then your meal is cooked.
it only affect people of that village or if that person is in another village, she came from that village, mystery solved, cannibalism
