Sri Lanka, Burma and the Philippines. The first two for their Buddhist culture and heritage. The philippines because I have many friends from there, and its latin/western influenced culture.

The countries I would least like to visit. Korea and China. I rather go to Syria, Iraq or Afghanistan.

Welp, I'm going to be in Japan on Dec 26th. Otherwise really I want to visit the rest of Asia at some point. I need to stop going to Japan so much... 3x this year. I have interest in:

Malaysia (mostly just to see friends, country seems to have issues)
Signapore
China (Chendu, Shanghai, Shenzen)
Hong Kong
South Korea
Myanmar
Thailand
Vietnam

Mongolia. I feel it’s one of the most unique places in Asia.

Some more interesting places in Asia that sounds interesting:

Lake Baikal

Nomonhan battle site

Xiamen-Kinmen island hopping

Nyingchi, Tibet

Unlike in the past, the above places are now quite readily accessible.

The only Asian countries I've never been to are five of the -stans (Uzbek, Tajik, Turkmen, Afghan, Pakistan) and Mongolia, Oman, Bhutan, Timor l'Este, and Maldives. And of course North Korea. So obviously, those are the ones that interest me as a destination.

Of those Id like to return to to spend more time, it would be Kyrgyzstan (I could live there), Japan, Iran.
