Tokyo is a playground for geeks, automated bike parking, automated restaurants, high tech bathrooms and whatnot. But is it still king?

Tokyo still comes off as the most futuristic, but I think Seoul and possibly even Singapore are catching up in some regards.

Futuristic? Have you ever been to Tokyo? Basically there's nothing futuristic about Tokyo unless you are talking about aging population.

Poor Tokyo, it’s so sad to see such a wonderful city that has survived total destruction time and time again only to rise up from the ashes like a phoenix to end in a whimper. RIP.

Tokyo is still a great city for so many reasons, but tech isn't one of them.

It's not the 90s anymore, have you heard of any 21st century tech giant in Tokyo?

Tokyo isn't Japan's Mountain View. It's more about politics, finance, popular culture(Akihabara) and the finest food in Asia.

LOL
It’s true that it’s been awhile since I last went to Tokyo, but I remember the city having an extensive train network (JRT), the latest in tech, innovative products rarely seen elsewhere.

If we’re talking about modern urban development, then it could be Dubai, Doha or Astana which all look pretty futuristic. In fact they remind me of the planet Coruscant in Star Wars.
