Nope. Completely different. Both BKK and MNL are mega cities with a lot more development than PP.. which I look at as a large country town in a developing country. Both Thailand and the Philippines are classified as Newly Industrialized countries

Online visa system is excellent. Many of the expats are there primarily because they are non-grata in Thailand.
It sounds like Phnom Pehn is the only one worth going to!

I've heard Kampot & Kep are slowly taking the place of Sihanoukeville on the coast...and Battambang sounds like a nice Siem Reap alternative.
