Just compare it to 50 years ago. Most of the celebs in the Philippines were white. Many of the people in this video are full white- half Spanish and half American

Honestly not to be rude but I don't know why you're always inserting Indonesian demographics to a thread intended for Philippines?

Of course theres nothing wrong. But most happens when they are called for a response to some posters asking for some similarity between those countries. Yours seems uncalled for and just popped out of nowhere.

Well the first one is mixed with Spanish, so that's why he looks Mediterranean, and the second one is mixed with Dutch, so that's why he looks nordic. This is not a ground-breaking discovery.

I think people tend to gravitate towards people that look just like they do. My wife is from Mindanao and does have quite a bit of Spanish blood. You can tell because she has a longer face and doesn't have the "Filipino Nose." But given the choice, she's prefer to hang out with other people from her region so she can converse in the Visayan language.

Now interestingly, we live in Seattle which has a huge Filipino population. At any given time, you can usually see at least 50 Filipinos at Southcenter Mall because they have a restaurant called Seafood City and Jollibee's there. It's interesting to see them interact. I do think my wife gets a bit of a colder shoulder from the Northern Filipinos because they know she's not from Luzon.

But it's pretty mild...probably akin to the Rebel vs. Yankee thing we have in America.

2 are pure Spanish, the other 8 are pure Chinese. So being more stereotypically Asian-looking is associated with being wealthier in the Philippines. The pure European Filipino types are so rare that Filipinos dont even associate them with upper-class Filipinos. Filipinos just think they're foreigners.

On the other hand, most of the Latino-looking people in the Philippines are regular poor folks. You see them all over the place. For example, this guy:

(at about 1:14 you can see his face close up)

He would be mistaken as Latino in the US, he doesn't look stereotypically Asian. But Filipinos would consider this to be an ordinary Filipino man. He wouldn't be considered as having "good genes" or a wealthy look. This is just what a lot of regular Filipino guys look like
OMG, you have got to be Sage75.
