This is a good size city that has a lot going for it. UNESCO sites. Lots of free stuff. City is very clean by Thai standards. I took the train for about 45 cents. There are also minibuses for two bucks...The train parallels the new SRT Red line. My hotel was good for 12 USD per night...ac, flat screen, hot shower...Was able to get back to the train station for 25 cents on a pickup truck taxi or songtaew. Will answer any questions.......

What all is there to do there? Does it have any city amenities? I just think of the historical region of exploring the old architecture...is there more than that to do?
The Temples.....a pretty big backpacker scene, and daytrippers from BKK, mostly coming on weekend. Good size train station, and can get numerous trains to Don Mueang..so even a good last night in town place...A very active economy..bustling in most sectors.
