Just be sure and wear a hat with USA in big white letters on the top so the Predator jockies back in Nevada don’t mistake you for somebody else.

It's gotten Safer because of Army Operations in Tribal regions near Afghanistan's border where they were hiding. Plus the Military is fencing the entire 2500 KM border with Afghanistan (almost 600 of that is fenced now) . China , Saudi Arabia and UAE's money is definitely helping recently they announced $15 Billion of investments on top of the $62 Billion by China.

I would argue that Judaism is one of the few that doesn't seem to operate under that principle.
Suicide bombing was actually invented by the Buddhists in Sri Lanka, during their late 20th century, civil war against the ethnic Tamils (Hindu) population.

I can give you a political analysis of whats happening in the ground.

Its easier to speak that way because the only source of your news is CNN or FOX who report only about Pakistan bombings. Till the 90's both India and Pakistan were very similar but after 90's India got the US $$$ investments and Pakistan got their arms and weapons - they havent been able to come out of it since. Now China is trying to exert its influence on it.

It is a very complex society to govern - there is ISI, the Secular people, Army, orthodoxy to convince and there is NWFP, Taliban, Balochs who pose a military threat. India also conducts sting operations to trap and ban their cricket team members ( If Asif, Butt and Amir played the 2011 WC, there were high chances of India not beating them)

They have their fair share of problems but you cant write them off. They still have a lot of potential and a booming young population.

And just when something good came up, the Pakistan team captain makes a racist comment on field and may get into trouble.

Interesting list. As others have commented, most are known popularly for their horrific - and recent - atrocities. It would sure sound "cool" at a cocktail party to say we've just returned from our trip to _______, but if you didn't return, the general feeling would be well, that's the price of adventure, and what did they think might happen?

Seriously. RWANDA? And Ethiopia? How comfortable would you be partying it up in a country that's one of the top recipients of World Vision work and child sponsorship to keep their kids from starving to death in full view of the village?

Madagascar sounds interesting.
