With all these protests against China hosting the Olympics I am getting a little tired of hearing how everyone must be super careful about criticizing China and walk on eggshells around them because it's very important for them not to publicly lose face.
If China wants to be taken seriously on the world stage and show themselves off to the world as host of the Olympics and as an emerging power they must be able to take public criticism. The U.S. faces constant criticism about it's policies daily and China should be mature enough to do the same.
China: grow up.
China is used to being able to crush any real criticism... but the beauty of it is...is that The Chinese cannot bash heads in Paris, France...or London, England...or San Francisco, California...
China is not used to facing criticism and seeing how much the world hates them...the US is ...LOL.
I'm going to be in Beijing in August for the Olympics. I'll let you know what it's like from inside.
Good Luck,
The pollution in the city is infamously horrendous. I've been there the visibility is small, be careful. The even will attract many thieves and Terrorist.
Many of the Chinese Americans I know are choosing not to go to china this year, and if they are its a remote place.
The city is quite modern, although I can already tell you what it's going to be like.
The Chinese media is censored, so some of the Chinese people are oblivious to the hatred they're facing.
Well, of course not. It's being raped and pillaged by the Chinese. Tibet is as much a part of China as the Moon is. The Chinese think anything they can get their claws on is part of China.

There are actually quite a few scholars disagreeing with your point.
When Chinese talk about history, they look back for 1000 years. but americans tend to dig for as much as 100 years, and jump to whatever conclusion they might come up with.
