A terrible tragedy but why does this get more publicity than the two Chinese students who were violently murdered in Newcastle, England?

A terrible tragedy for all victims.

Because the Chinese students weren't murdered at the Olympics. Nor were they the parents of a former Olympian. Murder is, unfortunately, very common. Not all of these tragedies can recieve the same amount of media coverage.

Yeah exactly my point. A British couple was murdered in Antigua a couple of weeks ago on their honeymoon. A young Aussie tourist was bashed to death in Greece last week which is somewhere I would normally regard as quite safe.
