Dubai is a great city to make a lot of money if you're a young, talented business professional who are only interested in Filipino women because that's all there is there. And don't have sex before marriage. That's a big no-no.

Rampant prostitution is fine, though.

How can anyone ever think Dubai can compare with New York City?

NYC is on the same league as London, Paris and Tokyo. Outside of those three, NYC is simply incomparable, especially with Dubai.

Sorry to be so forward with this, but the truth is the truth.

Dubai certainly beats New York in indentured servants.

I quite like Dubai.

BUT, NYC is WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY more dense, bigger skyline, more culture, more amenities, more everything.

Dubai is fascinating because it was nothing several decades back, and now something. But you really have very little density at all. It's spread out, and the train system is only two lines, and not much if at the majority of the metro exits. There are some fascinating malls and buildings and engineering projects in Dubai, but it would take a long time before it would become comparable to New York City.
