Those high paying contractor jobs are drying up since the UNSCR will expire at the end of December and contractors are no longer immune to Iraqi law, etc. Because of that, foreign contractors are leaving and being replaced by Iraqi ones. The Coalition will be drawing down as well so don't expect to find a 200,000+ job there.

If you are looking for an adventurous situation and want to earn more money, check into a job on an oil rig - they always seem to need welders. Check the web sites of Exxon-Mobil, BP, Shell, TotalElfFina, etc.

Wowo so you get $3.5 an hrs more then back home - For what - for the rest your family to worry that you'll get a bullet in your butt or worst? Naw...

Wow, are you serious with that comment? Do your research before you make such comment. Although I am from Iraq and I would never consider going back due to the current circumstances, my uncle and his wife are currently working there as Arabic interpreters and each will be making six digit figures as long as they complete their contract. Of course, however, this job is not for the weak.

LOL@ $3.5/hr, what idiot would risk his/her life for a few dollars?

It's a good opportunity especially considering the economic downturn that States is currently facing. The area where my relatives are working is protected. You will be risking your life if you leave the protected area.
