Default Traveling to Japan

Have any boardies who are DOD Contractors been to Yokosuka in the past year? I understand the trip from the airport to hotels near the base can be a bit tricky.

I have not been to Yokosuka in the past year. However, when we were based there, there was a bus that ran from the airport to Yokosuka with a stop at the Hotel Sanno on its way. You could try asking the Narita USO for help/information as to the time schedule. You had to have id, of course, or papers to ride the bus. The cost was reasonable and it was a luxury bus. Do pick up snacks before leaving the airport as it is a two hour ride to Yokosuka. The bus will take you directly to the base. As a DOD Contractor you should have privileges, unless this has changed. You can also contact the Hotel New Sanno for information as well. Hope this helps.

If I remember correctly, there is a train that runs from Narita to Yokosuka...I could be wrong though. The jet lag is a biotch, btw.
