I own stock in LVS (Las Vegas Sands), the company who won the bid to open the first casino in Singapore. The stock has been diving lately on low sales. How do you think it's new project Marina Bay Sands will do in Singapore?

Didn't the Sands project come to a grinding halt in Macau recently?

I'm not buying it. I can't personally see how it would work in Singapore because Singapore is not a gambling destination. Macau, which is the Las Vegas of asia, has been suffering recently due to a downturn in gambling profits. The current economic climate is not going to do any favours for the gambling industry.

I don't see how it could compete with Macau. Why would people who already gamble choose to go somewhere else with only one casino and limited other attractions?

I also heard China had restricted mainlanders from visiting Macau to once every few months in order to boost their own burgeoning gambling industry. I can't see them allowing Singapore to take their business.
