Agree on lax enforcement--UNTIL you say or do something to **** off a party official or their kids. Then you'd better get the f--- out of china ASAP and never look back. Doesn't matter if your guilty of anything or not. Yay "communism"
As if that doesn't apply to non-communist countries. That applies to most places, especially developing countries. Try pissing of an official from a "democratic" country in Africa or Latin America, or a non-communist country in the middle east.
Going to jail for throwing a shoe at an official anybody?
China isn't even really communist anymore as much as it is just authoritarian.

Sorry to get side-tracked. Point here is, just don't bother doing stupid *hit. I'm amazed at how stupid people are going to other places and doing easily avoidable illegal things. Reminds me of the big uproar of the kid that got caned in Singapore for graffiti.

Agree. Note the quotation marks around "communism"

I'm sorry - I have to get some sleep - insomnia is not good for me - neither is smoking - I would suggest legalized medicinal use & access to alternative methods of use - such as tincture or edibles

In Japan, if you have ever used you can go to jail. IE, you go through a drug screening for a federal position. If it is detected you used an illegal drug, you will go to jail. There have been past cases where some actors/actressses where accused of taking some sort of illegal drug. Since they were reported to police, they had to be tested. They were found they have used a drug and went to jail, I think the sentence was for a few years.

Japan won't even allow you in, if you have been convicted in the past. Here is an example:

In China it is ILLEGAL to USE drugs, not just sell.
You should be extremely careful. You could be added to the black list and forget about going to China gain.

Better think of moving to Colorado or Washington State.

China, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, etc. Most of this part of the world, is not the place to mess around with illegal drugs.

What if you just came back from, say, the Netherlands, to your home country of Japan? You didn't break any laws regarding marijuana use (assuming you did this BEFORE they banned it for foreigners in the Netherlands.)

Way more club drugs than weed in China. I reckon it's because the penalties for illicit drug possession for any kind is severe, so you might as well go all out and do something that doesn't leave a smoke trail and funny smell.
