Notice why all former Spanish Colonies folk dances are different to one another but Spanish music is there and even some clothing or some dance moves because all of them created their own individual identity. For others they think this is still foreign when they see it. Folk Dance usually represents your national identity. mostly created a culture which combine of their indigenous culture but also has Spanish origin side that became Hispanic culture.

Peruvian Folk Dance

Mexican Folk Dance

Filipino Folk Dance

as long as the other mix is Spanish origin blood then by appearance he is mestizo a real Hispanic (combination of both Spaniard & Indigenous). But the thing is they usually used Hispanic in Latin America the entire country and when you check it, people are mix of different races from different continent like African, Native American of Americas, European, Asian etc. but still they call them Hispanic. Lots of European migrated in South America or Latin America. Others are Non-Spanish origin like middle eastern too (Salma Hayek) for example or Shakira.
