Good/reasonable places to stay on west facing beaches/anywhere?

Why go west? The Pacific is beautiful. Sunrise is as beautiful as sunset.

Philippine Airlines has decent priced tickets from LAX and a few other US cities. Delta also may have tickets at a reasonable price.

People seem to like to go to Boracay for the beach. There are beaches all over, although if you want international standards, you'll be paying for it. Prices are not as cheap as one might hope: I pay $100/night for a basic beach-side cottage with full board (Filipino fare) near Batangas (3 hours from Manila), at Playa Laiya. No television, rumored internet (never tried).

Cars can be rented, but due to traffic patterns and traffic in general, most rent cars with drivers. It can take you three hours to get through Manila, not a big city, due to one-way streets, getting lost and general heavy traffic.

Beaches are favorite destinations nowadays for those who want to soak up on the beach and have fun. I suggest checking out beaches from the visayas as well, those are similar to the beauty found for those found from the Luzon areas.
