Which city do you prefer as far as skyline, culture, activities, and nightlife? Overall, I prefer Tokyo but I must say that I was very impressed with Seoul when I went there last summer.

You haven't karaoke'd until you've karaoke'd in Japan. They know how it's done!

I've never been to Seoul but I loved Tokyo. Between the off the wall kids in Harajuku and the endless sea of people walking to work, it's a culture shock but it's amazing.

乾杯!!

For skyline and Tech, Tokyo wins out... I think Seoul has a more vibrant city and night life.. Koreans dominate the music scene (ie. Kpop). It's really hard to compare since i've never been to either cities, but Seoul will have my vote for now

This forum isn't for international cities and this thread will most likely be closed but in the meantime Seoul hands down. Koreans are the nicest people I've ever met, very warm and friendly. Korean language is one of the easiest in the world to learn. And I enjoy similar sports as Koreans (Winter Sports and Taekwondo).

People in Japan on the other hand are kinda weird and like running entirely too much. Very distant culture in Japan - they won't just invite you in for a beer and to hang out. So private.

I've never been to either one but have met and lived with Koreans and Japanese people quite extensively (not American ones either nor were we in America). If things don't pick up here I'm considering going to teach English in Korea for a year or two.

I had a dream I went to Korea last night, and it was really cool in my dream, so Seoul.

We'll accept a thread that compares similar foreign cities that does not try to make a comparison of them to any North American cities since the differences are usually too great for a good comparison.

Tokyo is great during the daytime, and Seoul is best at nighttime

Spent lots of time in both and its Tokyo for me. Nothing like Ryopongi at night! Seoul is also lots of fun as well. Dongdaemun is my favorite there.
