Just give them just a little more time (as the song says) the religious are well known for arguing against logic, reason, and/or science, it is their second most favorite thing to do, right behind preaching at people who really just don't want to hear it.

I admire Hawking for his Scientific achievements and his ability to overcome his physical limitations.

I also admire him for his strong statement about "No god being needed to create the Universe". It takes guts to step into the religious sights and more so when you have bigger problems to deal with.

Hawking concludes, using the Theist Slicer, Occam's Razor, that the universe is self contained, has been around since the inception of time, explained by physics's forces, no gods needed or required.

"Quick, hide the gods, no not there, over here, behind the Big Bang! Oh NO! Here comes that guy in the wheel chair"

Once again, it seems that human intelligence and hard work has poked another hole in religious and/or creationist mumbo jumbo.

God did not create the universe in the justification of cause and effect, but He did create nucleo-synthesis. God did not create nucleo-synthesis, but He did create Negating tendencies for the major universal constants of Nature. God did not create any one universal Constant (like for gravity, for E.M., for the individual mass of the electron) he created Planck's constant and reduced all time to the existing Moment of micro-cnstants and Dirac's ratio for the same observation of the Inertial moevements in uncaused momentariness.

Oh he did. We're even looking to LOOK at that One.

it's "should have" not "should of" - "anonymous"

I find it ironic that someone would rep a post in order to point out a grammar mistake that I made in my prior post, then make a mistake themselves.

Grammar police suck.

Hawking pulls aside the curtain.

I watched Larry King interview Steven Hawking and several others this morning at 4:00 AM. The show was one of the few I think I actually enjoyed in a long time. Hawking and his coauthor stressed this was not about religion, but science, and it seemed to bother the catholic priest on the panel even more. I think they are seeing it is hard to argue with math and repeatable scientific data using faith as their only support.

My favorite Stephen Hawking quote:

Quote:
Q (interviewer): What is your I.Q.?

A (Stephen Hawking): I have no idea. People who boast about their I.Q. are losers.
