THIS MAY BE YOUR FIRST NOTICE OF THE COMING AMERICAN RELIGIOUS CIVIL WAR (ARCW). If so, you should date and preserve this warning. Then your distant descendants (maybe the "Daughters of the ARCW") can have something to be smug about--in the unlikely event that they, and this notice, survive the fires, and anybody can still read. The ARCW has already been started by the superstitious. They call it a "civil war of values." The shooting has already started. They call that "protecting innocent life." The purpose of the war is to overthrow science and constitutional democracy and to replace them with the Bronze Age myths and laws of ancient Iraq that became preserved in a collection of writings known, in translation, as "The Holy Bible." They regard this undertaking as "bringing America back to God." Loyal Americans should regard it as treason.

Civil wars only occur when people are desperately hungry, poor, or somehow threatened with imminent political or economic destruction.
Americans are mostly fat, dumb, and happy. The really stupid ones (fat white middle class retirees) are all worked up because there's a black man in the White House. And those boys aren't about to fight. They'd much rather have a tea party.

Yeah, sittin' down and yaking it up with the guys is a whole lot easier than actually trying to do something. Wars look pretty good when they are on television, or written in a book. If you are experiencing the thing up close and personal, it's positively more scary than you could imagine. i.e.- How many times can you change your pants in a day??
There is a war going on in this country & there has been for some time. This war has nothing to do with guns & killing but everything to do with those that would restrict your rights and tell you how to live. While we all look at them as a bunch of kooks and crackpots the leaders of the religious right are quietly becoming a political force. If these clowns every get a hold of any real power they will pose a threat to every non fundie in this nation, they need to be stopped now before that happens.
The problem you've got is that 'stopping them' you're violting their constitutional rights to believe, practice and make political whatever they want. Education is the enemy of madness. Educate people as to the ridiculousness of the belief system is the only way to 'stop' it spreading.
Just a word of advice... I tend to flat-out ignore any "Posted Message," forwarded e-mail, "Declaration," or anything of the sort when the first sentence is put in all Caps Lock. When someone feels the need to put the entire first sentence in caps, it alludes to not only a semblance of overzealousness bordering on absurdity but also ineffective writing skills. If someone feels they must constantly use Caps Lock to get their point across it means they probably don't know what they are talking about in the first place. Thus, they must scream and shout it so that everyone "hears" it. It reads as absolutely no better than someone standing on the street corner shouting at the top of their lungs: "BEWARE FOR THE END IS NEAR!"
Perhaps the author should have made the message multi-colored. The first sentence could be in large, brilliant and bold red. The next paragraph could have been in a subtle blue. Then, every time he felt the need to emphasize something he could switch back to red. This way, we could all be enraptured by the attention-getting colors like a bunch of Times Square gawkers than the actual content of the message.

Or sometimes it simply means the author is speaking passionately from the heart about a serious subject..
Fortunately, some of us (like the author of the article) take declarations and statements that begin with large bold letters quite seriously..
Hmmm...and we are re-ennacting the American civil war this weekend
So 200 years from now, will people be on a field in a park in front of a museum beating each other with Bibles and Korans as a a tribute to their ancestors ?????
