I never had that experience in my geology classes, but YES, that would be inappropriate, IMO. My prof would have hit the friggin' roof if someone had done that. Actually, it would have been hilarious but that's another tale.
My fundy mother went back to school late in life and obnoxiously interrupted her biology lectures with anti-evolution rants. She piped down during class after she failed the course and had to re-take it; but, she complained bitterly in private about the evil liberal professors. I don't recall having any of my science courses interrupted but all of my professors gave a standard 'no creationist nonsense allowed' warning at the beginning of the semester.
I actually never took a biology class. Our geology profs never made those warnings, but they never had anyone say anything. One of my profs (the intro to earth sci one) was British, and he was a tough nut. He would have ripped any poor sap who started it. I really liked him, even though I was a Christian at the time. I respected how intelligent and quick-witted he was. I don't understand how any student could have enough chutzpah to argue with a Ph.D. Come on!
I see the religious people have become defensive instead of understanding what "dominate" the class discussion which means it's their way or no way. Get it? I'm not sure if I am failing to make myself clear? But I think I explicated in clear English. If I need to simplify let me know.
Intelligent people have a tendency to dominate classroom discussions--this isn't a difficult concept to understand. Some of them MAY be Christians. It doesn't really matter if they're Christian or atheist though, if they are intelligent, and articulate, they will tend to raise their hand more, get called on more by the professor, they KNOW the answers.
So why are they taking courses? Because some administrator figured out that students needed to actually TAKE these courses to graduate, instead of allowing them to test out.
You have no idea what you are talking about. There are a variety of answers in the social sciences. There isn't one answer for social studies classes. I'm not talking algebra or chemistry here. Social sciences.
I was always rather silent in my courses. I wanted to hear what the professors had to say. I was going to form my conclusions and do my own research regardless of what the students said. I wasn't always sticking up my hand just to make the appearance of looking smart because there are plenty of people who can throw out their opinions but it doesn't mean they are the brightest......a great example of this is George W. Bush or Dr. Phil. Both have degrees. Both are good enough at answering questions and asserting themselves. etc.
You seem to have a very parochial view on learning. There isn't a single way. Unfortunately, in church you learn that group learning is the only way.

I took business management in college. The answers are pretty clear. And I spoke up a lot in class also. I don't remember mentioning religion a single time in any of my classes though. Well, okay, ethics--but that was it.

Reminds me of my Physical Anthropology class. It was done online (through a legitimate B&M university) and people are quite a bit more vocal when they can hide behind a message board...
We had at least 5 hardcore Creationists in that class and the first unit dealt with ID vs Evolution. The message board portion of that class was pretty hilarious. They obviously cut and paste from evangelical sites (html tags still visible etc.) and got ripped apart by our teacher. I loved it

Business management is subjective. Peter Drucker isn't the only business guru out there. Ever been to a library. Everybody has an opinion on how to manage. Every Christian I've known says, "Secular education is one thing. But the Lord God is how you should really manage your business or life." So, I should pray to God so he can help me make profits? Eeeeeeeeeeeek. Scary.

Of course he isn't. In fact, he's too "new" to be very valuable. More interested in people like Weber and Deming, amongst some other classic management specialists.
As far as letting God do anything? God helps him who helps himself.

I imagine that you chuckle just as hard at a very vocal atheist who is very passionate about his belief, but fails to bring any reasonable proof of what he says, right?
Seeing as how NO ONE knows?
