Why are we expected to 'respect' other people's delusions? (Creator, Mormonism, philosophy)

Secularism doesn't present me with good manners to follow. It decides that God or some natural/ supernatural condition gave me the gift for deciding that manners were applied to my educatedness. The rest was a lesson in being cunning for the bills of recognition.
Howabout at the time of the falling of the 9/11 towers. Did we respect delusion of each other? I believe that much and many were subdued to the ideology of fighting for the heritage and concepts of heritage over and against, take it, something like self-esteem and psychology (mind you even of responsibility).
Absolutely right. It's scary to think of those eager to enter their favorite version of an afterlife with their fingers on the big red buttons which will activate ICBMs left behind in the 'republics' formed from the disintegration of the USSR, for example.
As is typical you avoided responding to my full post
The only person avoiding on this thread is you, as you have avoided the most simple of direct questions on this forum that I have asked you, not just on this thread but on others too. I have asked you, for example, over and over again to tell me exactly what you mean when you use the word "god" and you have run away, usually with a parting insult, each and every time I ask.
For example in this reply all you did is list the things you have attributed to god. You still have not told me what you actually think god is or what you mean by that word. Attributing Y to X is not the same as saying what X is.
Also all you have done is say it is the "source of everything". In which case you are saying nothing because a) All you are doing is relabeling one thing with another word and b) you have not established that there IS a source for everything. "Everything" could simply be eternal. It is the religious, not me, that claim "god" is eternal and sourceless for example. Of course they have not a jot of evidence for that either. You come out with lines like "It explains this... it explains that" without ever saying what IT is.
So stop avoiding and tell me exactly what you think "god" means. What is it you are talking about when you use that term. I have told you exactly what I mean when I use that term.
Also you might try and answer this time without the anger, the over use of the bold function, and the personal insults and ad hominem. That might beef up your posts in size, but it does not add anything to your posts. Quality over quantity and all that.
If someone were truly delusional and mentally ill, or developmentally challenged, I would guess you would not feel any need to disrespect them. (Although I could be wrong on that) I think many/most would either pity such people or ignore them.
I did mock this one woman who suggested my autistic nephew might be a human/alien hybrid, but that was maybe wrong. Also to her face I don't think I did disrespect her, I just laughed about it with other. To her I just said "Yeah that's a little out there" and then tried to change the subject.
Anyway I don't think she's bad or anything for being so odd. She was a fairly nice person from what I knew of her. Although I admit I'm a bit weirded out still by what she said I can generally not think about it, or try not to, when I meet her.
See, Gavin...what you are saying is no different than you getting on the case of handicapped people for, "holding you up, in your way and slowing you down, and possibly endangering you because of it".
Would you refer to someone that used a walker or crutches (or maybe S. Hawking in his chair) as "crippled gimps"?!! You do the same when you label people as "delusional whackos", "psychos", "wingnuts", and "out of your gourd crazy".
If you REALLY see them as having something wrong with them...how cruel/heartless are YOU to call them names?
I honestly fear what YOU will do to THEM!!
Your "shouted" (fully bolded) post shows sooooooo much contempt for these people...replete with your imagined scenarios of them deploying WMD's!!...I worry about YOUR potential to enact a "preemptive strike".
I think you are using the wrong analogy. A person with a physical impairment didn't ask for it, in most cases. They didn't have a choice.
People who are so ignorant that they can't see the forest for the trees are who most of us are referring to with the delusional term. They refuse to acknowledge the plain and simple fact that all this religion nonsense is just that, nonsense. It may sound condescending and rude, but again, I use the taunting the rattlesnake metaphor. If someone is going to outwardly display their ignorance by wearing their religion on their sleeve, they are gonna get called out on it.

Nope! He contends it goes waaaaaaay beyond "ignorant".
This GavinC refers to them as, "delusional whackos", "psychos", "wingnuts", and "out of your gourd crazy"...those aren't mental conditions you "ask for" or "have a choice" about. MOF, if you REALLY are "out of your gourd crazy", you wouldn't even be legally considered responsible for your actions.
Com'ooooooon!! He's even got these people cooking up nukes!...saying, "If you are that out of your gourd crazy to say crap like this you are also crazy enough to load up some plutonium in our basement and rig up a crude but effective device to cut loose...".
Read his post again. It doesn't take much to see it for what it REALLY is.

I can see where his post does seem rather extreme, but he does call it like he sees it. If you will focus on my post you will see it's in a different context.

I get it. It's not ill-mannered not to introduce each other to each other. I don't know if it's the same in Iran though.
