I am an atheist and agnostic and I have already chosen a religion to belong to. I am a Unitarian Universalist.

Church of the flying spaghetti monster. It makes more sense than all of the others.

I love Buddhism, well the more philosophical Zen type Buddhism that is ethical and non-theist. I try to meditate and live in the moment. I don't do it to reach a "higher consciousness" or anything like that, I just find it rational and relaxing. I've noticed that since I've started it I'm calmer and my blood pressure is down.

Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.

The whole secret of existence is to have no fear. Never fear what will become of you, depend on no one. Only the moment you reject all help are you freed.

What's the religion you get 40 virgins when you die? I'm leaning towards that.

It is not quite what non-Muslims believe of us. The actual wording is "you will be greeted by 72 virtuous companions."

Some sort of fusion of Zen Buddhism and hippie nature worship. If we had to get actual deities involved, I'd get cool ones like the Norse pantheon. Or maybe the Orlanthi gods from the Runequest role-playing games, those were pretty cool.

If you were going to choose a religion, which would you choose?

I would probably choose (D)- None of the above. I don't take it well when people attempt to tell me how to think, or tell me what to believe. I have never heard of a god construct that made any sense, or heard of a decent religious ethic that I would choose to follow, nor, a religious structure that I would help pay for the building thereof. The flying spaghetti monster sounds good, as does the orgasmic rutabaga, I guess those last two would kinda put me into the pantheist category, if I could work up a belief in either.

Pantheism for me...
Why? Because there is no controlling 'god' but nature.
The laws of nature are the only laws that humans are forced to abide by.
I can live with that. It's the idea that I have to abide by some persons interpretation upper-entities idea of what IS that I have trouble with.
