Damon Fowler asked the school district not to impose a prayer at his graduation. He threatened to contact the ACLU and the school backed down and instead was to have a moment of silence. Here, however, is what actually happened at his graduation. Note that Damon is moving from Louisiana to Texas (not a lot better) to live with his brother since he has received death threats in his hometown. Note also that the website below is raising money for a college scholarship for Damon if you should want to contribute.

Again, proof positive that religion is the proven source of most of the hate and accompanying stupidity in modern society, and the sooner that this superstition and willful ignorance be discarded by society.

Nor do these fool recognize that they are expressing hatred for a god they call a loving god. How utterly stupid can you get?

See kids, having stupid kids does not condemn you to a life of being stupid.

Whoa, the scholarship fund is at almost $24,000. He will have a lot less debt when he gets out due to that. Looks like they extended the end date to May 31.

So the whole graduation cirriculum was supposed to change just because of one stupid kid????? If the prayer was that big of a deal then he should have taken ear-plugs.

Because from that day forward as an adult, sitting through a prayer at his graduation ceremony will become the LEAST of his concerns in life.

I do agree with Bluesmama. Sometimes a problem should just remain a person's problem.

Sorry, but in this case, the school was disobeying the law.

How would these Christian kids feel if a Muslim child was the valedictorian and prayed to Allah? They would be outraged, I am sure. In that moment of silence, people could pray anything they wanted no matter what their religion and atheist kids could simply reflect on their own values.

This is NOT a problem for only one student, but he was the only one with the courage to speak up.

I, personally, see no issue at all with a student praying to Allah. It's that student's moment.
