I didn't see this posted, but it's possible I missed it.

61% of Americans say that they would be less likely to vote for an atheist.

Not surprising, but what surprises me is that 46% would be less likely to vote for someone who had an affair. As if being an atheist is the worst of evils.

This kind of goes hand in hand with 9/10 Americans believe there is a god.

The masses are notorious for being uneducated and sheep-like. What do people expect, intelligent political discourse from idiots?

We aren't the "uneducated and sheep-like" ones, but since you are a Faux News fan, it doesn't surprise me that you wilfully misinterpreted the statement (or thought it clever to pretend to).

I'm actually surprised that it's only 61%. We must be gaining ground.

I'm betting there are a lot more atheists than are vocal about it, and always have been. Its the term that's not liked. I sometimes wonder if in medieval times there were actually fewer atheists or just more people afraid of being convicted of going against the church.

You are wrong. I am not a fan of MSNBC.
I watch the Fox News Channel and CNN.

It's a bit like this......

It is time to elect a new world leader, and only your vote counts. Here are the facts about the three leading candidates.

Candidate A - Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologists. He's had two Mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 Martinis a day.

Candidate B - He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in college and drinks a quart of whiskey every evening.

Candidate C - He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and never cheated on his wife.

Which of these candidates would be your choice?

Candidate A is Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Candidate B is Winston Churchill.
Candidate C is Adolph Hitler.

Don't you ever have substantive things to say? your lack of curiosity bores me. I happen to watch MSNBC and CNN, because I decided to stop giving my money to Murdoc, I used to watch all three untill I realise how satanic Murdoc and Fox News are. I hope you are getting paid to destroy our country, because otherwise you are wasting your time giving lip service to Murdoc's chain of evil.

I was actually commenting on the sheeples, not the atheists. As an atheist myself I don't make disparaging comments about my own kind.
