I'm no more or less annoyed at this as I am that I'll never be able to conclusively prove without a doubt that there's no Leprechauns at the end of the rainbow. It's all just imaginary stuff some other group is worried about. I've got more important stuff to do.

The intention of bringing up an "annoying thought for atheists" leads me to believe that the WhipperSnapper 88 doth protest too much.

Im not an atheist, but it annoys me to think that if there really is no God or afterlife, we wont be able to conciously think about that fact.

Why would that be at all annoying?

Your question reveals more about your mindset than it could ever reveal about ahteists.

Your right it does. I find it very annoying that I may never know the absolute truth. When I die, we still probubly wont know for a certainty about a God or afterlife.

And if neither exist, I will never know

I would say that since it is so unclear that a god exists (let alone which one), I'd say that since any extant God who wanted us to know about It could and would give us a heads-up in no uncertain terms, the weight of evidence is heavily on the side of no Gods.

In any case, some things cannot be known, and possibly never will be known.

Well, I guess I'm just not as totally emotionally mature as the rest of you!
Although it isn't usually very important to me to be proved right, I can think of a few people with whom I would I would definately enjoy an "Ah ha! I told you so! " moment.

It's still not 'annoying' to know this will probably not happen with this subject.....it's more saddening to know it will go on longer than I will.Having it proved before I die would give an 'end time' to it.
