What is most asuredly true is that he WASN'T a secrete Atheist... at least not in the sense that we would call "secrete militant atheist". He definitely LOVED religion and wanted to use it. He also believed in "his" God, and never, not even privately to his Atheist secretary, claimed to be an Atheist. In fact, he rather favored Islam and Evangelicalism over meek-ole Catholicism and its liberal pro-jewish ways.
What he most assuredly was, was a psychopath.
Mao was probably also a psychopath
and Stalin was probably just a very angry person with emotional problems

most of these people had delusions of grandeur and I think that is the main thing to blame, even among theists

And for AndAnother's information, all three of those people were pro "the right kind of religions" and didn't care if you were theist or atheist.
The only state that was ever officially atheist was Albania, which was majority Muslim with minority Christian and another minority Atheist.
All other states that are claimed to be "atheist" were/are simply highly controlling of their clergy and very opposed to foreign clergy.

The clergy always wants to keep all the money it rakes in.

Officially atheist, huh? What an enticing thought! I assume folks can still have their own church in wonderful Albania, but just no outwards proselytizing. Wow. The peacefulness of it all!

As for Hitler, I just happened to see a discussion of his spirituality the other night on a TV Documentary (so it MUST be right, right?). Hitler thought Catholicism was definitely under Jewish management, and that they were simply choosing to control more people by setting up that "branch" of the Christian church.

He was a practicing Christian, but wanted to eventually set up a unique German-Aryan Church, populated with, you guessed it, blue-eyed blonde pastors, and of course rather attractive tall blonde nuns who would procreate the best little Aryan children {"Awwwh... Aren't zhey zoo Kuut!???"} of Godt in zah werldt! Yah vul, mein Führer!

Too bad all those "elimination efforts" to rid us of his poisonous mind all failed!

As for Stalin, I think he made even Hitler look a bit tame! Stalin literally ordered the mass murders of even his life-long friends, and spread a sort of frantic terror throughout the Russian people, since he was unbelievably paranoid and uncontrollable. I often wonder why some brave and dedicated solider didn't just reach for his sidearm and finish off Hitler, Stalin & Mao. I'm sure there would have been mutual shouts of praise in all three cases...

For anyone to claim that they were atheists and that such a Godless position created their murderous personalities is a real stretch. After all, many of histories most atrocious killers have been devout Christians. People are who and what they are despite their Godly or un-Godly beliefs, IMHO.
