Perry is not necessarily really religious. He is defending white male privilege, not religion. He is furthering his political ambitions with this stuff (at least he thinks he is). Of course, Perry is dumber than dirt. His college transcripts show mostly Ds and Cs with a few Fs here and there and his major was animal husbandry.

People think he is sincere. I really don't believe it.

What's bad is the because of the right wing *god talk,* Obama is also going down that road. He shouldn't, but he seems to think he has to.

When will this country learn that religion is no substitute for brains?

What do I base that on? The track record of the previous former governors of texas.

Which brings to question, what the hell is wrong with the people of Texas that have elected these loons in the first place.
Having lived there in the past, (And glad I don't now) what is WRONG is that
the vast majority of the people of Texas think the Bible is the "complete and final word of God" That is the Problem......

When the American people decide they want to be grown up and progressive thinkers like almost every other Western nation.

Until then they will have their moronic Presidential candidates who are not fit to run a brewery let alone one of the most powerful nations on earth.

Coming from NZ I am appalled at the caliber of the politicians here and the rampant religiosity.

Maybe the same thing is wrong with them as the people of California who keep electing the likes of Pelosi? Stupidity.
