One of my cousins married a Witness after he got her pregnant; at the time, they were both just sort of Santa Barbara surfer kids who were just kind of like yeah dude, whatever towards everything... then, they moved into his family's "property" near Pomona - it was more like a small compound - and then, he started "getting back into" the faith. At first she said she wasn't going to join it... then she said she was "taking classes" so that she would better understand it... then, she was a Witness. She tried to get me, her brothers, everyone else to join up because she wanted us to share in the miseryyiimean, be saved.
Well, fast forward five years and a second child, they're split and she's got basically nothing to do with the guy or the church. It was really, really creepy seeing how she changed when she was with them... it's like someone turned off the switch as to who she was as a person and she was on some sort of creepy, bleach-toothed stepford wife autopilot - stepford wife in a trailer near SLO, that is
