SteelDragon,
What in the world does your post mean?
Don't most of them live like atheists anyways?
Excuse me, but I think you better hang out in the Christain thread.
You are insulting to good atheists, and your not welcome on our threads.
How ignorant can some people be, really?

Obama's father was an atheist and had a very profound affect on Obama in the short time he actually got to know him. Obama's book, "Dreams from my Father" chronicles his father's beliefs and how they affected Obama's life. Therefore, IMO, there is no way, that Obama didn't think long and hard about atheism. It wasn't until, he started doing public servant work(i.e. thinking of going into politics) that he found religion. His reasoning was that he saw how religion gave hope to the destitute people he worked around.
I'm fairly certain that there are many, many closet atheists in the church and in politics. Besides, don't most of them live like atheists anyways? How many scandals involving Prostitutes, child-molesting, homosexuals, stealing money, etc? How can one argue these people are faithful worshippers?
It can pay well to be a liar.
Just looking at posters in this forum, I see a widely diverse bunch of people who seem to have nothing at all in common, except for that one little detail. They are willing to state that they believe in exactly zero god(s).

From things that have been posted, we know there are multi-degreed scientists here, IT wizards, sales people, and many other types. Most of them are living normal, middle American lives. They raise families, go to work, cut the grass, go on vacations, attend cookouts, etc., etc.

With all that in mind, please explain what ti means to "live like atheists."

I have to say that I found no real problem with Steel Dragon's post apart from the highly critical tone of voice. That is nothing compared to the venom that Jesus dripped on Hypocrites.

But we understand that there are various reasons why people have to 'Do' religion (not the same as doing it over ) the Obama line that, true or not, we need it. And the closet atheist kind why may be genuine hypocrites but may also just be doing it because it is the easier option than standing up and declaring atheism.
