I've only seen one theist comedian. I remember he told one of those 'set the godless bastard up to be knocked down' jokes, but I can't remember how it ended. So it couldn't have been very good, though of course he got a roar of delight from his audience of churchgoers.
hehe...Looks like all side are getting in on this previous 'taboo' that comedians wouldn't touch before. Nothing like comedy to smash barriers er...to maybe understanding??????.............;-)...Now when I listened to JJ bark out his shtick I just wondered that when comedians get involved in this type of stuff are they 'with ya' or 'against ya' when the punch line comes out????...;-)....

Depends how good the punch -line is. Yes, of course, this stuff is not on a par with serious argument, but it can be very effective. I'm glad they seem mostly on our side.

.Now I don't know the old boy JJ but really when he says F*** the god-fearing I believe he means it...;-)....
Having read the prior posts, I could no longer go with mentioning George Carlin. He fits the bill.
Yeah and you know Georgie is very interesting to me. He kind of changed as he went on into his career. I mean in the beginning he told 'jokes' but from my perspective his comedy got really really edgy in the sense you can hear his anger as he's telling the joke. I mean he was funny and pi**ed at the same time in front of audeinces. He was on a mission! I think that he was the trailblazer there. hmmm..fascinating that a 'Catholic' guy gave the 'godless' comedians something to build on...;-).....
