discriminating against packages branded with the Atheist Berlin company name? They did a study. It needs refinement, but the results were quite interesting.

ATHEIST / USPS Discrimination Against Atheism?

I work at the Post Office, and I can say that this should not be true. The average Postal Worker is largely uneducated and a typical factory worker-type and to my knowledge, doesn't discriminate when it comes to the mail.
I say this because we also deliver mail for politicians who would rather have us privatized. If we would deliver a message that is not at all in our self-interest, I'm fairly certain atheist mailings would be a non-issue.

To be honest I'm more surprised someone thought that there was a market for ' atheist shoes ' and created a company on the idea. Atheist shoes. Whatever next?

Why?!?!?
Having worked there for 18 years, I can tell you neither management, nor the employees, care that much about what they are delivering in terms of religious or political mail. It would require a huge conspiracy to slow down or cut service to a select group, such as athiests. Moreover, postal management would be notoriously incapable of such a feat.

Atheist Shoes sounds like a defective product. After all, they'd have no soles!

I am sorry if I do not buy into the site's allegations. They felt discrimianted against, so did their own "study" to confim their suspicions. Could be a self fulfilling prophecy here.

I know some USPS workers. None of them could care less what the packaging said on it. They just sort, route, and/or deliver it. Management is highly concerned with preventing mail fraud by it's employees, to the point where one USPS worker I know likened them to the Gestapo in how they treat and pull employees suspected of doing anything malicious to the mail delivery process.

Maybe there are individuals in the post office with personal biases against athiests, who may attempt to do something to the packages. To claim that this constitutes and organization sanctioned bias or discrimination seems a bit of a stretch. Especially with some knowledge on how the organization is operated.

Or maybe they have specially heat insulated soles so that they can walk comfortably into hell.

Well theists think we are heels, so atheist shoes should have a built-in chip that plays "These Boots Were Made For Walking" whenever you stomp with them.

You keep lying, when you oughta be truthin'
and you keep losin' when you oughta not bet.
You keep samin' when you oughta be changin'.
Now what's right is right, but you ain't been right yet.
These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.

Seriously though -- atheist shoes?? Next it'll be Buddhist gloves or agnostic hats. Where do they come up with this stuff? Talk about picking your battles!

They might have to analyze this by zip code. I would bet on some fundamentalists here in Texas who worked for the USPS tossing packages with an something saying atheist on the packing tape.

The company itself had an idea and it seems to be selling well.
They are pretty expensive shoes and I would probably not buy them, but it is interesting.
