And to add to that, it is the religion which the majority of us ex-whatevers left. We are the most familiar with it, both its doctrine and its problems.

Exactly. If you didn't have people rolling up telling you that you were damned, not fit to be a citizen, without morals, ignorant and a liar because of your pale skin, then for sure it would never ever become an issue for you.

There are more than 2.2 billion Christians worldwide, just because few individuals are bad does not mean they represent the entire religion and Christ' teaching.
It's a lots easier/more comforting for some to sit and blame others rather than looking at self. Either way, starvation continues.

Oh.
But in all fairness Hitler has followers in both camps.

Why would I ever use Jewish scriptures to bash Christianity? Jewish scriptures have no more validity than a Spiderman comic book.

This is true. But the complicity of certain Christian sects in the Nazi régime is well-documented. Hitler himself may or may not have been an atheist, but at certain times he found it politically useful to attack atheism as a proxy for Bolshevism.

Hitler was an atheist without doubt. Nazi's had nothing to do with Christianity. Not all German and Austrians were Christians, and some Christians had to agree with them otherwise they would have been killed. Let's not forget that many Christians did and tried to save Jews and other minorities from persecution, let them hide, etc.
