You are correct, I should have worded it better. What I was going for was with science you can find the answer to all sorts of questions, whereas with religion you are mainly told to "have faith in gods plans" or "god has a reason."

That seems to be all some people need. Like the preacher said, "The bible says it, I believe it, and that ends it."

Fortunately, in these forums I have been able to learn what people believe in religions other that Christianity, and it really has surprised me.

For example, I had no idea that some Jews took the Torah so seriously. I asked them my favorite question - "Do you believe the first sentence in Numbers 31 is true?" - and they answered unequivically Yes.

One of our seemingly intelligent Muslim posters said he believes in evolution but not in the evolution of humans. I guess he things we are totally different from other animals.

That's why these forums are so fascinating.
