I haven't been around long enough to read many of his posts, but he'll be missed by all. Thanks to whoever put the photo of him on the forum.

Wow, this is shocking, I go way for the weekend for a high school reunion and come back and find that one of the most intelligent non believers has crossed over to the other world...Well,may his spirit rest in peace and I can see it now, him and Campbell arguing over the existence of Noah's Ark, Campbell saying that it does exist and Rifleman telling Campbell that god said he doesn't exist......

His troubles are over now and he lives on in our memories. I'll miss him.
He brought a lot to the table, often a great deal more than the table's capacity, something I guessed was a product of his relentless cheerfulness when contributing....you sure couldn't tell that he was sick from the energy he was putting into his posts.

So much of the language associated with the things manners prescribe get said in these situations, revolves around religious beliefs, and of course it would be ironic to be saying then on behalf of someone we mostly knew as a crusader for non belief. So, I'll add my inadequate condolences to Rifleman's family.

I'm very sorry to hear this. He had a certain style that added both levity and food for thought to this subforum.

Rest in peace, Rifleman.

Sorry to hear of Rifleman's passing. He made an odd post in May in which he said that he would not be around much longer. And now it has come to pass. While I almost never agreed with his views I did respect the man.
