So some bibles in Costco stores were (rightfully) labeled fiction. I think it's just foreshadowing how most will view the bible in a couple decades. As expected Costco apologized because foxnews and some butthurt pastor through a fit. Anyway, any thoughts?

I read that article earlier.

That book was classified correctly... Fiction. Companies still walk away from controversy when it comes to religion.

It cannot be classified as non-fiction. Why all the uproar? Most folk use it only as a prop/decoration to be seen with when attending church. 99% of folk probably do not even open it outside of a church service. It really is not that great a read or a page turner like a well written non fiction novel.

Interesting first book ever written/printed in history, with more publications than any book on the planet, in more languages than any other , and there is so little respect among the ignorant .
The childish mocking from those whom hate God only affirm the validity that book predicted should exist.
Not because they know it, nor it's principles, nor the spirit in which it was established, but because they hate whom it represents.
Sad ,very sad.
And these pretend to be intelligent ,yet twist select con tense to find argument against it.
I wonder ,
If the accusers were a defendant in a serious case how well they would deal with the prosecution twisting their words the same way ?
Intelligence and honesty need to go hand in hand .
But then again this is asking it of one whom has set their mind against the truth.

Hate God? That's akin to hating Spiderman or the Sasquatch. How can I hate something that doesn't exist?

They shelved it appropriately. Most stores just shelve it under 'religion' with the rest of the mythology books, but they are all fiction.

A tempest in a teapot. My guess is that Costco has 2 or 3 broad categories -- fiction, non-fiction, and maybe reference. A library would probably put the book in Doctrinal Theology. At Costco, this decision was probably made by someone who isn't paid to think, not far above minimum wage. Their job was not to pass judgment on the Bible, just to woof out a sticker and get it on the shelf. The Bible is clearly not a reference book like an atlas or encyclopedia; it's clearly not a work of non-fiction like a biography or a book about geology. So what's left?

Hate God?
There is some misinterpretation going around....if there is any 'hate' it
may be for those that push their religion...but, even there it would be more
frustration that turns to anger in debate, maybe pity
...
'hate' is inaccurate...towards a God they don't believe in?
Can't hate something
you don't think exists.

See, right there there is the continuation of the pattern of something amiss in
the thinking process.
It is the same thinking that causes people to think Earth has been here 6000 yrs.

I see no problem calling it a Reference book...of Judeo~Christian beliefs.
