"....ghosts of Christmas past and present and future"
(past) 'ehhhnggg, not like it was in my day, all good cheer and plum puddings - none of this commercialism. Proper Christmas cards with red -cheeked kids in ribbons and real tinsel that got into the carpet and reminded you of the festive feeling for months after. Turkey used to last quite a long time, too. .'
(present) "..the very latest blow the enemy away death and destruction video game. In three dees! Your kids will love it, and perfect training for the collateral damage mindset when they come to do their national service..'
(yet to come.) "..start making your contribution of only 1.50 a month towards your wonderful Christmas hamper for the coming festive season - no, I mean the NEXT one, not this one! Hurry!! Book now to avoid the rush to sign up for the exciting hamper of festive grub and presents, and this time we swear we won't go bankrupt and refuse to come up with a refund or anything else..'
Christmas Eve, after finishing work, I relaxed with the family. Had a few drinks, watched Elf, always a funny movie. Christmas day, exchanged gifts, had a superb lunch, made by my mum. We stayed out of the kitchen of course, as that is her domain on the day. Then a few more drinks and a couple of Christmas specials on the TV (One of the good things about Christmas). Then the day after (Boxing day in the UK - A bank holiday) I worked and then enjoyed seeing my football team beat one of their local rivals 1-0 away from home. An enjoyable Christmas.
