Yes, I think that fundamentalism is much rarer in Canada and moderate Christians are more likely to keep their faith as a private matter anyway. Sweden, Finland and Czech Republic are quite secular. Another important factor, I believe, is the fact that hockey simply isn't as popular a sport. Therefore NHL players aren't really considered celebrity personalities in the way that is the case with other US sports. Consequently, there is less of a perceived need to advertise one's faith.
