Mike, I see it differently. We have christians on these boards who believe that if you say you are a christian, that you are saved. That it doesn't matter what you do so long as you believe. Obviously, those in prison feel the same.

yep, all you have to do is say you believe and the world of christians will embrace you but in the dead of night you can kill and rape and pillage and ask for forgiveness in the confession booth and you'll be right as rain.
Now I am not saying all christians are that way but there are many crooks. The pedophile priests probably ask for forgiveness too. And read their bible and praise their god after they hurt some little kid.
Us kids used to sit in that confession booth and lie and make up sins because we were forced to go in there and tell the priest our sins every week... we used to sit and discuss beforehand what each one was gonna say.Talk about guilty feelings afterwards. I stole more bananas and candy from my mother's cupboard than anyone I've ever met That priest must have died laughing at all of us little thieves and liars..But how hypocritical is that? Since I don't set foot in churches and don't go to confession, I feel so much better. I myself deal with my own conscience and do fine.

Hey Chile and Maggie, I for one am not one of those Christians that think, once I am saved, then I can pretty much do anything I want. Not that I am putting any of them down, to each their own. For me personally, I think it is a work in process. Even though I have accepted Jesus, if I don't live the way I should, then I will be judged for that. I don't live in fear though, I know what I am supposed to do and how I am supposed to live. As long as I always try to put my best foot forward, then everything should work out just fine, IMO.

As far as athiests being moral. Anyone believer or not, can be as moral as they want to. I am sure there are athiests that have a lot higher morals than some believers.

Those Christians are typically called hyper-Calvinists. They are supralapsarians and a tiny minority even within the Reformed faith.

Maggie, don't you know that you have to go to prison to be saved? After all, that's where everyone finds Jesus. I just wonder...why is he still stuck there?

LOL I see I've made a special friend! I find humor in your hostility. Means I've hit the mark more than once when responding to your attacks on logic, reason, and science. Then again, I find humor in everything.
