I am sure humanist have sect just like atheism. By definition there is none, but we all have personal experiences that sometimes divide us up into emotional based sects. Like abused theist become militant atheist. Or a manic episode can form a literal theist.

I probably fit humanist guidelines and am not anti-theist. But If you listed everything I say about religion that is negative; it sure would look like I am an anti thiests.

That describes me pretty well also. Which is why I went. I am somewhat anti-theism but not so much anti-theist if that makes any sense. The one thing I do miss from organized religion is the like minded conversations and (admittedly limited) actions to try to improve the world in what small ways we could. I hoped to find that again without the ritualistic chants, prayers and songs that few of truly believed.

I've had some success in this regard with the Unitarian / Universalist society ... they are easy to overlook because of their roots in Christianity and the tendency to call them "churches". However they are creedless and full of atheists and agnostics (and pagans and buddhists and other sorts of theists). It is essentially the same idea as a humanist society but a little more willing to engage in some god talk, in a "do your own thing" kind of way. They have a social justice bent and some family oriented stuff like summer camp retreats and regional meetings annually. Your mileage will vary from one local group to the next but I would not overlook checking them out if there's one near you.

The meeting I went to Sunday was in the afternoon in a UU facility. They have a Sunday morning service. I have considered that also, but haven't been. I probably should.
