Not "some," Arq, ALL prophecy is recognized only when they happen. Prospective use of prophecy is Divination and is an improper use. It is also improper to identify prophecy based on the expectations of fallible humans and their desires, as did the Israelites. Prophecy is self-identifying by its actualization, not expectations.

Of course I don't see prophecy as anything worth talking about other than as prophecy that turned out wrong, retrospective prophecy (the OT quotes used in the death of Judas are a touchstone example) and messianic predictions and the like that are made (with or without dates) but is always in the future.

In other words, reason not to believe the Bible or the claims made in it or the dogmas that grew up around it.
