But, in this case, true. If there was any doubt, a declaration that it was a bit of fun, should settle that. There is of course a rule book on rational assessment of data, and that's the one we use. Or should.
A first draft of an Atheist Rule Book might be something like:
• Think for yourself
• Keep an open mind, subject to better evidence
• Kindness and intelligence are the two supreme values
• Don't fashion your belief system based on fear, what your parents told you, or what any authority figures, or your culture, has told you
• Continue to develop your mind and your understanding of the universe
Editorial commentary?
How bout just, "Rule Book"? The theists need to follow all of these as well.
And I think "kindness" should be highlighted, if you make this an e-book
This thread was entirely tongue-in-cheek, and I thought obviously so. The idea of making a Rule Book for a group as diverse as atheists is like herding cats; not really very easy or productive.

I'll refer you to Poe's Law, which states: "Without a clear indicator of the author's intent, it is impossible to create a parody of extreme views so obviously exaggerated that it cannot be mistaken by some readers for a sincere expression of the parodied views." Use the "smiley faces."

The opener did not give a clear indication of a Tongue In Cheek thread, but now we know...
Maybe rather than a "Rulebook" there could be an Atheist version of Biblical History, or a version of the "Ten Commandments". One could swap out mysticism, myth, etc. for technology and the sciences, for instance...
I dunno, maybe the "10 Commandments Of An Atheist Kitchen"
1. "Thou shalt only use metal cookware a magnet will stick to on an induction cooktop!"...

Welp, it was tongue-in-cheek but it was serious, too. I guess what I was getting at is, what do most atheists have in common. Or, are there any commonalities. After the utter failure of this effort, I addressed the subject from a different perspective in another thread.
