Default Anyone else afraid of Sarah Palen ?

I am very very much afraid that if the GOP wins this election Sarah Palen will try to inflict her Assembly of God thinking on the rest of the country. I think she's very dangerous and I wondered if anyone else feels that way too. We surely do not share her religious beliefs and I wonder if she will try to cause problems for those of us who do not, like she tried to do with the librarian who would not remove some books.

I am not afraid of Sarah Palin. Unless the President dies, the VP is basically a figurehead with little, if any, influence on the policy. Even if McCain dies, and Palin becomes the President, I am more afraid of the "gray cardinals" than of her. Palin will not be a leader in her own right. She can't be. Come on, she is a nobody. The mayor of Wasilla? Please. She has no clout, no connections, no history. The Republicans chose someone they can absolutely control, and her job as President, if she does become one, will be to do as she is told and look pretty.

I have to admit that the little bit I know about her now is pretty scary if she was to become the VP with an elderly President in office. I think he might have made a big mistake with that choice.
By the way, when I first saw your name Ann in Oriental I thought you might be in Asia someplace. Then I noticed your city is in North Carolina. Is it is the Far East of the state?

Nope...not at all. Keep in mind also that she left the Assembly of God back in 2001 and joined a non-demonimational Bible church afterward. The story of her giving a hard time to the librarian is false and blown way out of proportion. Now, she did ask if the librarian would be open to removing certain books and when the librarian said no, Palin dropped the matter and nothing more was said about it. The "Pray Away the Gay" story is also false. Her church did not sponsor or participate in that rally. It was actually sponsored by Focus on the Family, not her church, nor was it held at her church. My fiance and I did see her in person at a McCain/Palin rally here in Colorado Springs last week. As we are both committed agnostics, we listen carefully for anything that smacks of that. Trust me, we live in the heart of Focus on the Family headquarters and we have to listen carefully and decide if a candidate poses a real threat. She said nothing that made us concerned about any imposition of religiosity on the Nation. Investigate for yourself what the real story is and don't rely on propganda from the left or the right concerning either candidate....and all these horror stories about her are just that...propaganda. I am, however, much more concerned about Obama imposing socialism and Marxism upon the nation, growing the government, and taking more out of my pay check.

BTW...give her a few props...she is a governor. If she is no more than a mayor of a small town, then Obama is no more than a community organizer.

Nope, I am not afraid of her as far as her beliefs are..I am afraid that if Senator McCain is elected that she could be the president if he diesThere are many more experienced women he could have chosen as a running mate..I think he made a BIG mistake in choosing the "cutsey" one

I pretty much vow to leave the country if the GOP gets another stint of power. that being said this lady doesn't help the situation for the way I feel about it. I would really be a little scared if her line of thinking took hold, It wouldn't be a pretty picture at all.

1) Both candidates will increase the size of governement. Believing otherwise is naive
2) Atleast obama might balance the budget or at the very least decrease the size of our 400 billion dollar deficit, which is being financed by the likes of China and Russia.
