Well, and to come into the agnostic/atheist forum and post this with the accusatory subject line that is has is pretty rude. If one of us had gone into the Christian forum and done the equivalent, it would have been deleted pretty quickly.
Hmmm. I didn't consider that the post was rude. I really think under the historical and traditional construct of Christmas, that saying it was all bunk, to be rude. As there are millions that believe and a fraction that don't.
If there isn't balance in a similar example, which none comes to mind.
Then this thread can end.
SuSu, if you are so inclined.... come up with a comparable thread to submit to the Christian forum and see if your hypothesis is correct.

This is displayed next to religious displays that honor the season and holy days of Christmas and Hannukah (sp?)...
Is this appropriate in the minds and hearts of Atheist posters on this forum?

This is very disrespectful but as I said in another thread, some are so unhappy with their own beliefs that they have to try to tear down the beliefs of others. They ridicule the 'religious' but they can't see how religious they, themselves are. They literally make a religion out of ripping that of others apart. Every man, woman, and child on this planet is a sheep. I don't care what you believe spiritually--God, no God--like it or not, admit it or not, you're following someone. The question is, where are you following them to?

Meddling in peoples affairs regarding abortion or discriminating against people due to their sexual preference is "full blown disrespect" by Christians. Atheist are mild comparison if this is full blown disrespect by Atheists. It's amazing how a little sign can get Christians in a tisty, but yet don't see the magnitutde of their own actions against others. Exercising tolerance will gain respect and things such as this will happen less. Unfortuantly I think it's gonna get a lot worse in the future.
To me personally I think its all stupid. Let the Christians have their little display, and let others live in peace. I don't understand why people find this so difficult.
Exactly. Christians have been far too disrespectful.

The difference between you and me, "freedom", is that I won't go into someone's house and insult them outright. I simply couldn't go into the Christianity forum and say something that has the equivalent subject line as you put on this thread. Out in the more open one, maybe. But not in their own "home" so to speak.

That's the same way I feel about it. Why not let Christians have a place where they can discuss things amongs themselves. I don't feel like I belong there and I don't post there. That was the whole purpose of it's creation in the first place. They don't state that atheists can't go there but I do think they deserve to be treated with respect in their subforum. I think that the discussions that have the potential to become confrontational belong in the main forum because that's for everyone's use.

Should i have posted in the religion and philosophy threads?
