Well, yeah, ..... I used to know this really nice guy, an Episcopalian Minister, who was just one of the most decent human beings I have ever met. He never preached at me, never took offence at my atheism. He was a good and caring human being, he only preached on Sunday, and only to his congregation. It never seemed to matter to him what anyone else believed. He actively fed the poor, and collected a wide variety of clothing that he distributed to the homeless. On the cold winter nights, he would let them sleep in his church.

Wow. People like that deserve a lot of credit.
Yes. I agree there are many christians (muslims, etc) who've done a lot of good. However, those religions have also caused a lot of war, hate, murder, and pain. The people are good. Christianity is not good. The people are to be commended. Christianity is sadly racist, hate filled, and teaches a very limited moral code.

Huckle, you made a comment in a post previously that sounded like you support the idea of the Roman Catholic Church re-starting the inquisition. I asked you a pointed and direct question about that. Will you answer that question?

ok -- here it comes.
fyi never said we should restart the inquisition, a terrible suggest, that was surely not the intent of my post. .

The life benefits of regular church attendance, and article by Neil MacQueen
It seems that his research isn't unbiased so it's truth is rather questionable. He only uses sources which are religiously motivated so their surveys and information could have been biased. An unbiased source comes from an independent organization which has no religious affiliation(that doesn't include sources which promote atheism since they're just as biased.)

The absolutes are for the religious minded. Those who see everything as god or satan donneit.

Reality is always in shades of gray. Some of the most generous things that have been done end up doing a great deal of harm - unintended consequences.
reminds me of that quote from some guy or another that goes "The evil men do lives after them, the good is oft interred with their bones" W.S. from his J.C. A III S ii L 76-7
