Hmm, yes well come to think of it, I think that was about the age I actively started trying to avoid going to church myself, so perhaps there was something to my original tongue-in-cheek comment.

I knew well before that age that I didn't like going to church, and that I thought it was a huge waste of time, but I didn't figure out how to occasionally avoid it until I was about in first grade.

So maybe the kid is an atheist after all. One can only hope! KEEP THE FAITH little bro! Er, uh...well, not faith, but ya know...

Making your children going to the Church is a form of child abuse.
Once I took my daughter in the Orthodox Christian dome, and she was scared by dominated architecture, silent people's behavior etc. She whispered: "Dad, let's leave, I don't like being here". We left.

P.S. Article didn't say what kind of church it was. I assume it was LDS.
I did google map search for a church near Plain City, UT, and seems to me that they have only LDS churches there. 100%

church loc: Plain City, UT - Google Maps

Well it doesn't matter, all churches funny.

Yeah, I was forced to go to " crutch " as a kid, what I learned was, that I'd be damned glad when I turned 18 and could get out of there.

Smart kid. He's a damn good driver (and runner! LOL), too.

Too bad he ran right back into the lion's den.

Perhaps we should start an underground railroad to to save the smart kids who wish to escape the Xian cultist indoctrination camps
