Little Christian Heathens
In my home we have a copy of the Bible and the Zohar. In my home we do not practice any sort of religious rituals except Christmas. In my home we give thanks to family, friends and ourselves. We discuss other religions, debate their system of beliefs and leave an open ear for a chance to learn something new. My daughter is strongly influenced by my wife an me but my in-laws, who are stern Catholics, preach as much Christianity to my daughter as they can fit in one visit. We do not ask them to “NOT” preach but we instead leave room for our child to ask us questions about what grandma and grandpa are saying. So, this is life at our home.
Yesterday my daughter commented at dinner that her “friends” started to single her out as a freak and tease her for her opinion about Adam and Eve being the first people on Earth, as the Bible states. I asked my daughter, “What did you say?” She replied, “ I told them that if Adam and Eve were the first man and woman on the Earth then their kids needed to have sex to make more kids, and that is sick!” After a little patting on the back to dislodge food I was able to look at my daughter to see she wasn’t kidding. For some time I wondered if my daughter would favor Christianity or be more in line with the way my wife and I feel, the time of wondering is over.
We explained that a lot of religions strongly oppose anyone who questions their religious faith not to mention questioning their religious mythology. We also explained we agree with her but the time to debate religious disbeliefs is not on a school bus with children who are more in line with being sheeple than freethinkers as she has become.
Already at the age of ten my daughter has seen that Christians will crucify at any age. So, do I ask my daughter to be “Christian” and tease someone for a different view or follow our own beliefs and be an understanding and accepting person? That’s a no brainer!

Yup, it is isn't it? Just like the generalization Christians have towards non believers. Treating doubters like freaks or outcast is in the very fabric of Christianity and it has shown itself here with 9 years old children. If this is the faith you stand and defend then I should stay away from you too, because I refuse to believe Jesus would have treated anyone like this, myth or not. The sad part is they, the children, learned this behavior from their parents, “Christians”.
Having found my post wierd, I'm sure you are one of the few exceptions to the rule (generalization).

And where on earth did your first male and first female ape come from, anyway? How do you teach that "they" became human? -
It seems the rejection of the simple Word of God makes you believe in bestiality producing male and female human beings, and try to get the daughter brainwashed by the father of the OP to explain that one to her little "mind filled with mush", as Rush says.

As of this response you have 1,666 posts. Quick, post again before Satan gets you!
Now, what were you saying? Something about "God's Word?"
I don't believe in any god, so there's no "God's Word" for me to reject. That pretty much ends the discussion, because I'm not going to teach a class in evolutionary biology on City Data. However, pick up a few books by Stephen Jay Gould. That oughta do ya.
I'm curious about something, though. You seem to be putting Rush on a level with a deity. While I do believe they should be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, that is pushing it a little bit. Also, Geddy Lee is a hardcore intellectual who tends to favor a scientific approach to things, and as he's Canadian, and Canadians are always polite, I doubt he'd refer to anyone, even those turds who decide who gets inducted, as having a "mind filled with mush."
Oh, you mean Rush Limbaugh? He's a big fat idiot.
Yes. I'm sure this post makes a lot of sense to you, in which case the feeling is mutual. Thank you for playing. Please deposit your raffle tickets in the recycling bin on the way out.

It's in the very fabric of pseudo-Christianity. Understanding that is fundamental to understanding the USA.

Well, how do you or any other Christian explain Adam and Eve with out incest?
In my home, as my daughter clearly pointed out, that's sick! Yet I'm the one filling my daughters head with mush, please! Even my kid can see the lack of morality here.
Just say "NO" to incest.
Yes apes.

Hello mrmikeman,
I think that you should rejoice in the fact that you have a daughter who can think for herself. Without any prodding from you she was able to deduce that the christian origin myth is precisely that: a myth. She picked up on a logical fallacy all by herself and at the tender age of 9. Pay particular attention to this child. She may be gifted.
All the best,
Zekester

mrmikeman, if I had said Adam and Eve's relationship was incestious, I would have been put in an institution..I was already treated like 'the antichrist' for asking questions that were no
where near there... Kudos to your daughter for thinking as far as she did. very smart child!
I've never heard Adam and Eve explained by catholics...would like to hear it tho!
