Many people in the U.S.—perhaps 20 million to 40 million—believe there will be a Second Coming in their lifetimes, followed by the Rapture . In this event, they say, the righteous will be spirited away to a better place while the godless remain on Earth. But what will become of all the pets?

Bart Centre, 61, a retired retail executive in New Hampshire, says many people are troubled by this question, and he wants to help. He started a service called Eternal Earth-Bound Pets that promises to rescue and care for animals left behind by the saved.

Answer: if this projects to a good profitable bottom line, I'll sign up as Master Pet Care Adviser (an upper-management position, mind you..), open to a few well-placed "Graft & Corruption" tips to ensure Fido always gets slightly better moist dogfood than sad little underpriviledged Inkspot.

Then, we can all have fun in the sun, while their master's bones lay moldering in their graves, turning back into dust.

Cool Sounds like heaven to me!

No rules to where the pawsy divine beings can or cannot go - oh man! that would be the eternal heaven I never even signed up or prayed for. One more, albeit 'fictional' reason to be an atheist!!

Can you imagine? A world without governuts like sarah failin'!!

Damn, why didn't I think of that? These guys are gonna make a fortune!

Fees:
One (1) pet per rescue address = $110.00

Each additional pet per rescue address = $15.00

I thought I was on the Christian forum for a minute.

Rapture? Sounds like another lick and a promise to me.

No no mrmike! It's an idea where you don't have to behave properly or responsibly in this life because you intend to get saved (through tithing and prayer) onto a Golden Ship of apparently major dimensions, and which is perennially "on it's way here right now, brothers and sisters!" to coincide with, you know, the Rapture Event. Which has been promised for nigh on 2000 years.

I think it's kinda like a Dave Matthews concert, no?

In addition, perhaps they could leave the keys to their BMW on the kitchen counter.

Besides who in hell would want to go to heaven if dogs aren't allowed?
