I went out for a birthday party and got drunk. I jumped in a cab, gave him the address and fell asleep.

I woke up to 2 officers waking me up, whilst I was still dazed, they pricked my finger and took a blood sample.. by force ?

Are my rights violated ? Do they have the right to ? I mean it is absolutely absurd that they can draw a blood sample in such a scenario

This happened in Cobb county

They probably checked to see if you ODed........... or were having an insulin shock

by force? you were out cold. force not found.

consent? again you were out cold, possibly high on something.

violated rights.. nope. are they using the sample as evidence against you?

here is what happened. you were drunk/high/diabetic shock, somebody called to report an incapacitated person, they came, saw you cold out and proceeded to assist.

That seems like the most likely scenario.

Most likely the cab driver reported you, saying someone who he thought was hopped-up on something was in his cab. He called the cops and they met up with him and did a test on you. Your fault for not controlling the booze - not the cabbies, and not the cops. He (cabbie) was potentially worried about his safety or having someone croak in his cab, and the cops were doing what taxpayers pay them to do. If this HAD been a medical emergency, the actions from all sides could most likely have saved your life. I would suggest thanking them for taking the time to give a hoot.
